To order the immunizing peptide for blocking experiments please see Peptide Info.Target ProteinPrincipal Names: CYBRD1; DCYTB; FLJ23462; cytochrome b reductase 1; duodenal cytochrome b Official Symbol: CYBRD1 Accession Number(s): NP_079119 Human GeneID(s): 79901 Gene Ontology Terms: electron transport; integral to membrane; transferase activity Immunogen Peptide with sequence CRNLALDEAGQRSTM, from the C Terminus of the protein sequence according to NP_079119. Purification + Storage Purified from goat serum by ammonium sulphate precipitation followed by antigen affinity chromatography using the immunizing peptide. Supplied at 0.5 mg/ml in Tris saline, 0.02% sodium azide, pH7.3 with 0.5% bovine serum albumin. Aliquot and store at -20°C. Minimize freezing and thawing.Applications TestedPeptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:16,000. Western Blot: experiments gave bands at approx 35kDa and a 26+28kDa doublet in human colon lysate after 0.1µg/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the bands we observe given the calculated size of 31.6kDa according to NP_079119. The detected bands were all successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide (and BLAST results with the immunizing peptide sequence did not identify any other proteins to explain the additional bands). We would appreciate any feedback from people in the field - have any results been reported with other antibodies/lysates? Have any further splice variants/modified forms been reported?

These antibodies are affinity purified using their peptide immunogen and are known to give low background staining in a western blot (see Application Notes below). However no additional claims are made for their ability to recognise native protein in any application. |
